Zusammenfassung
Problematisch in der Begutachtung bei Long-COVID bzw. beim Post-COVID-Syndrom ist vor allem die häufige Fatigue-Symptomatik. So muss der Gutachter in der privaten Krankenversicherung (PKV) Stellung nehmen zu Fragen, wie eine umfangreiche Diagnostik bzw. teure experimentelle Therapiemethoden (etwa Apherese-Verfahren) aus wissenschaftlicher Sicht zu bewerten sind und ob sie im Behandlungsfall als medizinisch notwendig angesehen werden können.
In der Krankentagegeldversicherung (der PKV) ebenso wie in der Berufsunfähigkeitsversicherung ist die Leistungsfähigkeit im konkret ausgeübten Beruf qualitativ und quantitativ zu beurteilen. Hierbei kann und sollte sich der Gutachter an den einschlägigen wissenschaftlichen Leitlinien der AWMF orientieren, so bei der Beschwerdenvalidierung.

Long/Post-COVID: Problems in the assessment for private insurance
Abstract
The common symptom of fatigue is especially problematic in the assessment of long COVID or post-COVID syndrome.
In private health insurance, for example, the expert must comment on questions such as how extensive diagnostics or expensive experimental therapy methods (e.g. apheresis procedures) are to be evaluated from a scientific point of view and whether they can be regarded as medically necessary in a treatment case.
The ability to perform the specific occupation is to be assessed qualitatively and quantitatively for the purposes of daily sickness benefit insurance (private health insurance) and disability insurance. In doing so, the appraiser can and should follow the relevant scientific guidelines of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies of Germany (AWMF), as in the case of complaint validation.
